About Chaya
Instruction
Based in Denver, Colorado, Chaya has been studying, teaching and performing since 1993, and enjoys sharing the art of dance with others. Not only does bellydance work the body and circulate energy, it also lifts the spirit and helps us celebrate and love our bodies, regardless of age, shape or size. Or, schedule a fun mini-lesson for your next party or Girls’ Night. Instruction is available for adults and children. Chaya has taught both women and men from ages 6 to 60. Be prepared to learn, sweat and laugh.
Performance
Chaya is available for performances suitable for all occasions, from birthdays to baby showers. She has performed at venues ranging from traditional to alternative. Her captivating style spans the spiritual to the whimsical, and is a magical addition to any event. Audiences and students alike enjoy her technical expertise and winning personality. In addition to dancing as a soloist, she was a member of Serpent Moon for many years, and is currently a member of Apsara, a Denver-area avant garde bellydance performance troupe.

Chaya's Dance Resume
Studying Middle Eastern dance since 1993. Experience in Egyptian Cabaret, Turkish, folkloric, American Tribal Fusion and Interpretive.
Teaching since 1998; Belly Dance Concepts, Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District, Shimmy With Sheikha in Evergreen, Bally Total Fitness in Thornton, the City of Thornton plus private lessons and workshops. Led student troupes the Hyland Habibis and the Pearls of the Desert.
Events: Chaya has performed at many events, including Moon over Morocco, Moon over Denver, Moonlight Safari, Raks el Sehr, the Taste of Colorado, the People’s Fair, the Colorado Arts Festival, the Dark Arts Festival, Whip It, the Parade of Lights, the Denver Zoo’s Festival of Animals, the Relay for Life, the Climb for the Cure, the Festival of Nations, Hallowpalooza, the May Festival, the May Faire, the Witches’ Ball, StarFest, Mile Hi Con and Daku Con. Chaya and friends Apsara are long time supporters and participants in the annual USO Show at the Thornton VFW.
Restaurants: House of Kabob, Café Euphrates, Maharajah, the Mercury Café, India’s, Aladdin’s and Sahara.
Chaya has shared the stage with the Navel Maneuvers Dance Troupe, the Evergreen
Kahia Dancers, the Furies, Serpent Moon, Les Femmes and Apsara; performing with bands including Yallah, Peace Love & Destruction, the Zen Barons, the Siren Project and Bhakti Rasa.
